Annette Lory was born in the Bernese Oberland in Switzerland in 1968. She lived in various linguistic regions of Switzerland, and later in the USA and Latin America for extended periods of time. Currently she makes her home in Zürich, where she works as a social worker and writer. She writes both for adults and for children and teenagers. Several of her short stories have received awards and been published in anthologies and literary journals. Her radio play Butterflies was nominated for the Bernese sonOhr Festival prize in the Fiction category in 1915. She is a member of Autorinnen und Autoren Schweiz (Swiss Authors) and the authors and artists collective “index”.
