Martin Bichsel photographed transgender people for nine years—in Switzerland, Europe, Japan, Siberia, and North Africa—during their daily lives, while taking notes on their life stories.

The result is a book of images and texts which takes a sensitive and open look at a topic that is often avoided and stigmatized.
