Beat Diary is a project of the Bernese drummer Julian Sartorius. Every day for a whole year, he recorded both a beat and an image, no matter where he was or how he was feeling physically:

A Day—A Beat: Every day I will record one beat, no matter where I am, using the situation each day will bring. Rules: No loops, no effects. Just me, my surroundings, my drum kit, and a field recorder allowing overdubs.

The resulting photo-musical diary combines sound and image in a unique manner. One day, one track, one picture. The borders between sound and music, music and art, and art and life blur together.
